For the most flawless, natural look, Laura says it's key to avoid over-applying foundation to the middle of the face—where too much formula can accentuate lines and other imperfections. With liquid, crème, or powder, she recommends starting at the outer portion of the face and working inward towards the nose. Focus on one area at a time and be sure to blend well. Avoid excess application around eyes or the contours of the face. Repeat application until desired coverage is achieved.
Remember, use Foundation to even out your skin tone. Use Concealer to camouflage imperfections.

This is the foundation I have spent years searching for! I have combo skin and most foundations break up and get patchy around my tzone. But not this! Goes on so smoothly and makes my skin look great! Plus, I only need one layer for full coverage! I have lots of redness and acne scars, but this foundation covers it all. My one slight problem is that in certain lighting, cashew, which is a neutral shade, can have a peachy undertone. But this seems to only happen in certain light so its only a minor problem. Overall I love this foundation

I have this foundation in 5N1 (pecan) and there is nothing neutral about this shade. The undertone is so orange it is ridiculous! In every formula, I find that this shade's undertone is perpetually orange. Also, there seems to be a gap between shades 4w2 and 5n1. Why isn't there a 5w1? Laura Mercier really needs to re-calibrate her shade range and go back to the drawing board and fix this the orange undertone in the shade pecan and make it appropriately neutral. The formulation of this foundation is nice and skin-like but I just can't get pass the oompa loompaness it gives my complexion.

Comments about Flawless Fusion:
This is nothing special as far as foundation goes. Unfortunately the applicator blocks. Unfortunately this became apparent after it sprayed sidewards onto my favourite cashmere and wool jumper. It stains permanently. So for the money really a minus five.

Dry and Aging
By S Kelly
from Houston TX
LM has discontinues the Smooth Finish Foundation, which I loved, and replaced it with this. It is much too heavy, too matte and drying and it looks like something an old lady would wear. It does last for a long time, but that is not enough for me to continue using. For the first time in over 15 years I wll be switching to a different brand. I've tried several of the other LM options and non of them work. It's very dissappointing. Farewell LM, I am on the hunt for something new.
Lunch Time Disappointment
from Irvine, CA
I have been using Laura Mercier for years. I stopped using it for a period since the mall was a drive for me at times. Once I heard about the flawless foundation I was extremely excited!!! At 1st I went to L.M. 3 different times because the sales associate was recommending shades that were slightly off. I finally went back a 4th time to a makeup event they were having and found a great shade for my skin. I absolutely love the way I look right when I apply it, yet by lunch time I look as if I didn't really apply anything. I bought the primer hoping it would better it and so far it hasn't made much of a difference. I still have a great amount of faith in L.M. and will purchase the setting powder soon to see if that is what I need to achieve the flawless face look. I stand by L.M. and hope they either improve the wear of this foundation. Please if anyone has any tips, let me know xx-Mar

Not the best, Laura...
from Atlanta, GA
I've used several different formulations of Laura foundations over the past 10 years and am typically happy, but this one did not do it for me. Good coverage, but the finish is far to drying and matte for my skin. I moisturize like crazy and I feel like it just sucks it all up. Sadly, I'll be returning this one.
PLEASE Bring Back The Moisture Supreme product and colors!
from San Francisco
Very sad to say that After 15+ years with Laura Mercier I am have to part ways. Unfortunately, the foundation colors are not what they used to be. I have used Moisture Supreme Foundation for 15+ years. Now that this product has been discontinued I have not been able to find a color to match Blush Ivory. The new foundation Candleglow and other producst (Ive tried them all) does not have a match and most of the colors have too much orange. I agree with another review that says that the color scheme needs to be changed back.I have had numerous Makeup Artists try to find a better foundation color for me over the years and they always agreed that the Blush Ivory Moisture Supreme looked the best and almost non identifiable. PLEASE BRING THE OLDER COLORS AND MOISTURE SUPREME PRODUCT BACK.
Really Love it
Its the foundation I have always wanted. It stays all day and looks amazing. It makes my skin look perfect and natural. Love it.

Sad to say goodbye.

After many years with LM, I must say no more. Unfortunately, the foundation colors are not what they used to be. I have used Moisture Supreme Foundation for many years. Now that this product has been discontinued I have not been able to find a color to match the Vanilla Beige. The new foundation Candleglow does not have a match and most of the colors have too much orange. I agree with another review that says that the color scheme needs to be changed.

I have fair to light mature skin with red undertones. I've tried both the 1C1 and 1N1. Lots of freckles and some broken capillaries. This is sheer to medium coverage at best. Yes it's buildable but will look cakey if you build it. It dries super fast. What I've found with Laura's foundations is that you HAVE to go lighter that what you think you wear. Once it's blended in it will match. At least that's been my experience.

This foundation has light to medium coverage AT BEST. I had to build up three layers to get any sort of coverage on my freckles and it definitely isn't long wearing. I use setting powder and spray and by lunch it looks like I'm not wearing foundation at all! It's also sets into the skin weird.

Shades are Off
I wear Laura's tinted oil-free foundation in Blush. I purchased Ecru and it is horrible. It's an orange, yellow undertone and looks horrible on me. I miss Laura's foundation in a jar. I received many compliments wearing it and now you discontinued it. The shades were right on. Please bring the jar foundation back with the same shades and update the foundation if you must.
