Have both colors, use as a Highlighter-Fantastic!

Great highlighter. I would NOT and do not use it all over--it would be way too shimmery for me as an all over glow. I just lightly apply it with a fluffy, small brush to the tops of my cheekbones, top of chin in the middle and down the very center of my face, nose, forehead--VERY lightly. Used this way, one container does the job and lasts a very long time. Both shades are great and blend nicely into my skintone--I prefer the more golden one and would probably just buy that one again in the future. Just gives a soft, candlelit glow right where I want it. You could use in on your body, top of shoulders, etc. as well, with strapless or sun dresses.

LOVE IT, BUT....

I have been using the "sparkle" powder (as my granddaughter says) - they have changed the name and most likely the formulation, but I was ready to order a refill when I noticed that this is 0.34 oz and the previous powder was 1 full ounce. Thats 1/3rd the amt for the same price. I think I will have to look elsewhere for finishing powder with a little sparkle to it.

I am in my early 50's looking for new foundation. WOW what a discovery. Loved it so much, went back for the hydrating primer. Make up is flawless. Does not fall into lines around eyes or laugh lines around mouth, not cakey at all. Have tried other "powder" foundations to find them "itchy" when I get overheated, not with this product! I am using application brush from another brand because it is perfect. Also took a chance on the blush, a little goes a long way, however perfect color! I am light skinned with freckles. Have hard time with blushes due to coloring such as, pink just looks stupid on and earthy too orange. I took a chance with Laura Mercier Rose Bloom - perfect! I recommend these products to anyone with "aging" skin, LOVE IT!

Elegant, subtle glow/shimmer

I have been wanting to try this since I first started using LM mineral foundation. Got the Candlelight for more golden color vs. silver since warmer colors are best on me. This reminds me of fairy dust! I am fair to medium with both pink and yellow undertones.....This is a light sprinkle of glow or shimmer wherever you put it. For daytime I place on my checks, forhead, nose, and chin very lightly over my LM classic beige mineral foundation and over my blush...really lovely effect. Very, very happy I purchased. I love, love, love Laura Mercier's quality and I'm so happy I found her line!

Summer glow

I ran out of my shimmer powder made by another company, and so I got this in Starlight. I was looking for a silvery, glittery glow, but this was not the product I was looking for. Starlight Mineral Illuminating powder is a golden glow/shimmer, which gives a nice summer glowy look, but was not what I was looking for. This shade is GOLDEN. Heads up! Does wear off by the end of the day. My co-workers complimented the summery look it gave.

Loveeee this mineral illuminating powder!! I use a tiny bit everyday to finish off my look. It gives you an incredible glow like an angel! It doesn't look like you have tons of sparkles on your face either! I barely have to use any to make myself look awake and luminous, so I know this will last me a long time. Well worth the money! By far my favorite purchase I have made from Laura Mercier!

I recently bought this at sephora tested it and I'm in love. The sales girl introduced it as a highlight. Can i use this as a setting powder all over my face after my laura mercier tinted moisturizer???

Mandy

Mandy, The Mineral Illuminating Powder gives a natural illuminating finish to your eyes, cheeks, and forehead. You can use the Mineral Illuminating Powder on your entire face for an all-over healthy radiant glow but, to set your makeup we recommend you use one of our setting powders.

Hello there, I was trying to decide which mineral illuminating powder to buy. Under the description it says, "Candlelight is a rosegold colour best for pink skin tones with neutral or cool undertones. Starlight is a gold colour best for golden, olive, or yellow skin tones with warm undertones". However, in one of the answers to a question below, a representative says the opposite of that. Which is it? I have warm and yellow undertones and would like to know which to buy. Many thanks.

Nicy

Nicy, for your skin tone we recommend the Mineral Illuminating Powder Candlelight. Candlelight works best on individuals with golden or yellow undertones.

Do I need to take off the plastic insert and remove a film before using? I threw out the box before using and can't seem to get any powder out. The plastic insert seems hard to remove

Carol

Carol, Remove the cap and then remove the protective clear plastic seal covering the small holes in the top of the container.

Hello, there is currently no stock for this powder where I am. I currently have the Baked Eye Colour in Ballet Pink and would like to know which shade (Candlelight or Starlight) is closer to the Ballet Pink? Is there any other product that you would recommend which is close to the Ballet Pink shade? Thank you.

eugenie the newbie

Hi, As a replacement, I recommend Pink Opal Caviar Stick Eye Colour. If you are looking for a Mineral Illuminating Powder, I recommend Starlight.

tarzu

Starlight light seems too dark on me Is candle light lighter than starlight? Is it possible to get a sample of candlelight?

Jackie

Jackie, They both are light colors Starlight is used on someone who has pink or red undertones.Candlelight is used on someone who has Golden or yellow under tones. T
