How to Prevent Undereye Creases and Caking

Ever do your makeup and it ends up creasing under your eyes and caking? We've all been there. these common makeup faux pas are less than flattering but are easily avoidable. Using concealer correctly and setting your makeup properly can make these issues entirely a thing of the past.

Why does my undereye makeup crease?

You do your whole face only to have your undereyes crease and cake up. This unfortunate phenomenon can occur due to the skins natural movement around the eyes, heavy or thick makeup products, and poor application. Additionally, skin type, age, and hydration levels can also contribute to this problem.

How to prevent undereye creases with concealer

When using concealer to cover dark circles or blemishes under the eyes, it's important to choose a formula that is lightweight and hydrating like our Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Serum Concealer. This serum infused concealer helps skin stay hydrated and avoids that cakey look. Heavy concealers can settle into fine lines and creases, accentuating the problem. After concealing, blend well and then set with a translucent powder to prevent creasing.

Using setting powder to prevent caking

Setting powder is a crucial step in preventing caking and ensuring your makeup lasts all day. After applying your concealer and foundation, dip your Velour Puff into setting powder, working powder into puff by folding and rubbing the halves together (it shoudl look like a taco). Tap off excess. Press puff onto skin using a rolling motion to set makeup.  This will help absorb excess oils and prevent creasing and caking throughout the day.
