Works Well With

High pigment, high performance, hydrating foundation creates a flawless, radiant canvas that lasts up to 12 hours. Makeup artists love how this award-winning formula feels comfortable on skin while hiding even hard-to-cover imperfections—and how natural it looks for selfies, photos, video, and special events as well as for everyday wear.

Moisturizing, long-wearing formula designed for normal to dry skin. Smooths skin texture and visibly evens skin tone. Colour-true pigments virtually disappear on skin for smooth, even application and blending.

Medium to Full coverage—Laura's fullest coverage.
Natural Luminous finish.

Ideal for normal to dry skin types. (If your skin is on the oily side, try Silk Crème Oil Free.)

Formulation Details
Oil-free. Non-comedogenic. Dermatologist-tested.

Shake well, then dispense a small amount onto the back of your hand and apply to face with Laura’s Egg-Shaped Sponge or fingertips. For best results, use after your preferred Laura Mercier Foundation Primer.

PRO TIP

For the most flawless, natural look, Laura says it's key to avoid over-applying foundation to the middle of the face—where too much formula can accentuate lines and other imperfections. With liquid, crème, or powder, she recommends starting at the outer portion of the face and working inward towards the nose. Focus on one area at a time and be sure to blend well. Avoid excess application around eyes or the contours of the face. Repeat application until desired coverage is achieved.

Remember, use Foundation to even out your skin tone. Use Concealer to camouflage imperfections.

I almost didn't try this foundation because of the negative reviews but I'm so glad I did! Admittedly, I never used the "old formulation" (which must have been liquid gold) but the new formulation is great. It has great coverage for my old acne scars while not completely hiding my freckles and still feels lightweight and doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing a mask. I don't have any problems with it causing breakouts and it works for my very sensitive skin. Also, the color happens to match my skin tone perfectly. I saw a recommendation to apply it with a Beauty Blender sponge and I second that. If you've never used this foundation before, give it a try, I bet you'll love it.

I have bought both of these formulas--the Photo Edition Regular and the Photo Edition Oil-Free-neither of these works and/or compares in the least to the old Silk Crème Formula. If all/most of your customers are telling you that this new "formulation" is a huge fail and you fail to acknowledge and bring back the old formula--I plan to not purchase ANY LM product again. Not trying to be threatening here--but the old formulation/foundation was an absolute JOY to use and the "FOUNDATION" of my entire make-up routine. This new formula is drying-not radiant, not luminous--just completely blahhhhh. Hope YOU LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS-if not-then that shows you don't care about them--and I will have to find another BRAND.

Bambo Beige?

By Anne

from NY

Comments about Silk Crème Moisturizing:

If I used Bamboo Beige in the former Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, what shade would best match me in the new formula Silk Creme Moisturizing Photo Edition?

Thanks!

Very disappointing

By Sue

from Charlotte NC

Comments about Silk Crème Moisturizing:

I have used this foundation for 6 months and I will never buy it again; it's very concentrated, goes on way too thick and I was definitely not sold the correct color as it turns yellowish after a couple of hours. I've tried some other LM foundations with less success. I do really like the primers and concealers.

Not happy with quality

By Layma

from Dubai

Comments about Silk Crème Moisturizing:

So I used to use the older silk creme foundation that was a thicker consistancy years ago and I remember loving it. I moved on from it because in the summer I wanted something lighter and then I began experimenting with other products. It's been about 4 years now. I came back to Laura Mercier looking for that same thick nice consistency and was told from the sales lady that this was better and new and improved.

When I went home to try the product I found that the cream was more liquid like rather than a cream consistency and when I put it on my face (with the Laura mercier primer) It came on very grainy and did not stick to my face smoothly. I had to rub certain parts of my face to make things blend better.

Overall I was really not happy with the new formula as it did not blend well on my face nor did it go on smoothly.

PLEASE bring back old formula

By JJ

from Ohio

Comments about Silk Crème Moisturizing:

I spent years raving, raving, raving about this product: the old formula that is- recommended to MANY friends.... the new formula- I just cannot do the same. I have moved on to a different brand and will remain there until I see "original formula" available again!!!! Why oh why must you companies do this to your loyal customers????

Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation

By Bev

from Milwaukee

Comments about Silk Crème Moisturizing:

Please bring back the former Creme Smooth Foundation. It was great! Had a luminous glow and lasted all day. It also was a full coverage foundation. I loved it!!! I can't find any other foundation which offers the same. I tried all your new foundations and don't like them. They are very disappointing! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK the Creme Smooth Foundation. Hope to see it in the stores. Thank you!

PLEASE bring back the old formula!

By Christy

from Orlando, Florida

Comments about Silk Crème Moisturizing:

I have used the old formula for years! I still have a little left that I ration out because it's just THAT good. I have converted so many people to the old formula and they are equally as disappointed. I have tried so hard to like to the new formula, but it just doesn't compare at all. PLEASE CONSIDER BRINGING IT BACK!

    Q:

I was choswn cream ivory but it looks like I need a color just a tad bit darker but I believe the next shade was too orange the lady told me. Any suggestions?

      Thanks---Jennifer Varnado
I had the same exact issue with the Cream Ivory color being too light and the next one up being too orange/yellow. I found that the Ecru color worked the best for my skin tone without being too orange/yellow and was darker.

If you have a pink, red are cool undertone we recommend Silk Crème Moisturizing Foundation shade, Rose Ivory. If you have neutral undertones we recommend the shade Cream Ivory. Q:

Can you help me buy a Shade, I wear number 3 in charlotte tilbury light wonder and N2 in Mac Studio face and body, I don't like heavy heavy coverage, my problem with them is the glide off my face in no time and cause patchy powdery look while it's disappearing. Recommend a primer also and a powder and concealer if possible. I've heard great things about Laura mercies and would love to try it. Ivhe dark brown hair, hazel eyes, warm tone to skin, red patches on skin in later years not sure if blockages from make up or aging reasons. I have combination skin, oily at nose can be dry/dehydrated on cheeks that's why it slides off
Asked on 3/31/2017 by Noto from Ireland

    1 answer

    • A:

Hi - I am not sure what shade you would need. I used to wear a blush ivory in Laura Mercier, but I have found the Trish McEvoy Fair is a closer match for me. I could not find a color match in any Laura mercier foundations that really works for my skin color; they all seem too yellow or tan for me. However, I have very fair skin, blond, blue eyes. I also have red patches, but mine is rosacea. I have tried Trish McEvoy tinted moisturizer and two different foundations and love them all. I have no problem with the products being heavy, or gliding off my face. I do prefer Laura Mercier eye shadows and setting powder, and Charlotte Tilbury mascara and powder pencil (Sophia or Audrey) for eyes.
