Gurwitch Products was co-founded by Janet Gurwitch and Gary Kusin in 1995. The company produces, manages, and markets Laura Mercier Cosmetics, a global brand of prestige cosmetics, skincare, and body & bath products.
Gurwitch and Kusin joined forces with famed Makeup Artist Laura Mercier in 1996, after realizing the imminent paradigm shift in the beauty industry, propelling niche lines to the forefront of the cosmetics business. The combination of Gurwitch’s business savvy and foresight, Kusin’s strength in operations and distribution, coupled with Mercier’s talent has provided a solid basis for a strong, growing business based on technique and a high-quality product.
Gurwitch Products’ current President and CEO, Sharon Collier, has been with the company all 13 years of its life. She began as the National Sales Manager, quickly grew to become the VP of Global Sales, and then became President in 2004. She added CEO to her title in February 2008 and now manages and oversees all day-today business operations, as well as strategy development, retail negotiations, and acquisitions.
