Additional Information

This Laura Mercier bestseller is your go-to setting powder. The loose powder feels luxuriously dense in the jar, feels silky-light and refined on your skin. Applies evenly. Blends effortlessly.

Modern Matte Finish

Creates a modern matte finish with a touch of sheer coverage. The translucent shade works on virtually all skin tones.

Soft-Focus Effect for a More Flawless Look

Like all Laura Mercier Setting Powders, it has a soft-focus effect that subtly blurs the look of fine lines and imperfections. Doesn't settle into fine lines or pores and never looks cakey.

Formulation Details

Oil-free. Non-comedogenic. Non-caking. Dermatologically tested.

Laura recommends applying with the Velour Puff (sold separately).

Preparing the puff is key: press the Velour Puff into the loose powder, then work the powder into the puff by folding and rubbing the halves together, or by tapping the powdered side vigorously on back of hand.

Gently press puff onto skin, using a rolling motion to "work" the powder in. (Around eyes, use Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes.)

As with all Setting Powders, apply after any creamy formulas, including cream blush.

PRO TIP

When your entire makeup application is complete, including color, give your skin a velvety, finished look by using the Powder Brush to apply Translucent Loose Setting Powder to sides of cheeks, center of forehead, nose, and tip of chin.

Talc, Magnesium Myristate, Nylon-12, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, EthylhexylPalmitate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Methylparaben, Lauroyl Lysine, Propylparaben, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Butylparaben, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Tocopherol, Methicone. May contain: Ultramarines (Cl 77007), Iron Oxides (Cl 77491, Cl 77492, Cl 77499).

I have very oily skin and this setting powder I will continue to buy! It makes any of my liquid foundations look "matte" which is what I want, it does instantly and controls oil and makes my makeup last perfect ALL DAY! literally through ten hour work shifts. LOVE this powder and won't buy any other now! Wish it came in a bigger container than one ounce!

but I just don't. From the description and other reviewers' comments, I expected a powder that would wow me. Maybe just a little shimmer to it, something that would help my makeup last all day and would look great on me. I applied it using the "proper method" with the Velour Puff LM sells. It left me looking a little paler than I like (and paler than when I use LM's Translucent Pressed Powder). It did not help my makeup to last longer- to the contrary, unfortunately. My blush disappeared in an hour! I don't have oily skin, so no, it was not because it seeped into my pores or anything. I have to give it three stars because it is a decent value for the money and it doesn't clog pores or anything. I don't have skin that gets shiny, so I can't say whether it works for that issue. This is no magic product. I'm going back to the Pressed Powder when I use this up.

LM Does it Again!

By tihawkins

from New York, NY

Comments about Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder:

I love LM products. No matter how many new brands I try to explore, I ALWAYS come back to Laura Mercier because the palette matches perfectly and feels great on my skin. I don't like to wear a lot of makeup at all but I've been noticing my face looks very oily in pictures and I find my makeup wearing off by the mid-afternoon. My friends kept referencing "banana powder" and to me it seems like an unnecessary added layer of makeup. I googled "Laura Mercier banana powder" because LM is my go-to, and this came up with amazing reviews across several sites. I headed straight to the store to purchase, watched a video on how to apply and I can honestly say my makeup looks amazing! My skin is not oily, nor dry and everything is staying in place. Even my boyfriend said, "Your makeup looks nice today" and he has never referenced the fact that I even wear makeup. Ever.

Comments about Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder:

I lightly dust this product all over my face after my liquid foundation and concealer routine, then I use the sponge pad to apply a slightly heavier amount to my under-eyes to really set in my concealer. The results are lovely, I do not come out looking powdery, my foundation lasts all day

      Best loose powder ever!

Comments about Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder:

I've been using this for over a decade and it's amazing! It's not chalky or heavy, it's silky and satiny. I wear it over the original Tinted Moisturizer and it leaves my skin looking healthy and flawless. It works well over any foundation I use but my favorite is to use it over the tinted moisturizer. A little pricey but there's a lot in the package compared to most other companies. I can't recommend this enough!

It did give a slight tint of color over my foundation. I actually prefer the Invisible loose powder over this.

Comments about Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder:

I use the Creme Smooth foundation, and I add a lightly colored foundation powder to the Loose Setting powder for a tinted matte finish. It tends to flake and clump by the end of the morning.

Comments about Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder:

This is an amazing product! I use Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and wanted something to soften the glow it gives but not matte it out at all, and this is just perfect for that! I was even surprised when after sweating so much, my skin actually looked so fresh -- oh yes! Definitely made everyone think i had gorgeous skin with no make up.

I don't use liquid foundation, only a loose powder-I am very fair and was wondering if this would work, or if I should get the other loose powder, or if they are similar...I saw this reviewed in a recent magazine and it was highly recommended.
Asked on 4/24/2016 by Happyredhead from Kentucky

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Happyredhead, the Translucent Loose Setting Powder is used to set your makeup to prolong wear. You can use this powder alone to create a soft natural look to your skin. However, if you are looking for a powder foundation for very fair skin tones try our Loose Mineral Powder foundations. Our Mineral Powder foundations are a finely milled powder composed completely of natural elements. They are Pure Pearl Powders that have a soft focus effect creating a natural, healthy, youthful glow while Zinc Oxide works as a sunscreen agent to block the sun's harmful rays. Based on your skin description your shade would be Soft Porcelain.

would the translucent loose setting powder will help last my makeup? because the other day, I notice my makeup was wearing off and the contour that I did was fading and my face was oily but I have dry skin. and another question, can I put the loose powder after I applied my foundation then applied a pressed or any type of powder?
Asked on 3/31/2016 by kelly from Miami,FL

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Kelly, the Translucent Loose Setting Powder sets makeup to prolong wear. When entire makeup application is complete use Translucent Loose Setting Powder to set your makeup. We don't recommend you use another powder once you have set your makeup. Using another powder on top of the Loose Setting Powder may give you a cakey look.

would this product be considered as a primer as well as a powder? would you need to use a primer with it?
        Asked on 3/31/2016 by Becky

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Becky, the Translucent Loose Setting Powder is not a Primer. Always use a Primer before you apply your makeup. A Primer creates an invisible layer that acts as a buffer to outside elements. When your entire makeup application is complete use the Translucent Loose Setting Powder to set your makeup to prolong wear leaving you with a natural look.
