Tayaba Jafri is one of North America's leading Makeup Artists. She has developed her reputation with over a decade of experience in the fashion and cosmetics industry. Tayaba is based out of Toronto, Canada. She joined the Laura Mercier Company in 2003.
Tayaba was initially inspired by the glamour of film and the runway. As a student, Tayaba pursued her passion by working at the corporate office of a major cosmetics company. Following high school, her love of the arts and fashion took her to Ryerson University in Toronto where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Fashion Marketing.
As Tayaba grew within the industry, she found a new enthusiasm in education and began training others on the most current makeup application and trends. During this time, she learned to take her artistry skills to a new and higher level.
Tayaba has worked in nearly every facet of the industry. Along with being the makeup artist of choice for several independent films, Tayaba has been involved in Toronto Fashion Week and the Toronto International Film Festival. Recently she has enjoyed writing articles on health and beauty for local Toronto magazines and has been interviewed for Figure Magazine.
What is your top beauty secret?
It is simple. Always focus on the texture of your skin, face, eyes and lips. Making sure there is no surface dryness on the skin (which oily skins can get as well) and ensuring you have a nice glow, can give a youthful charm to your beauty. To keep your skin looking supple and fresh, a great skincare regime is important.
