Jerry Johnson travels nationally and internationally teaching Laura's philosophy and educating women on makeup style and trend. He joined Laura Mercier in 2003 and is based in New York City.
Jerry started his career when encouraged by an artist friend and told that he "had a good eye" for color. He has worked extensively in film and television including The Oprah Show, Academy Awards, Grammys, MTV Video and Movie Awards, MTV and VH1 specials, and most recently showcased makeup trends on New York's Fox 5 News.
With his vast experience, Jerry is a well-known makeup artist with celebrity clients including Paris Hilton, Naomi Campbell, Renee Zellweger, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Toni Braxton, Hilary Swank, Sophia Bush, and Pink.
He has also participated in many runway shows for designers such as Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Sean Jean, Pamella Roland, Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan and Diane von Furstenberg. Most recently, Jerry assisted Laura Mercier in creating looks for an event with top beauty editors.
Jerry's work can also be seen in the pages of Vogue, Seventeen, Self, Lucky and Vibe magazines.
What is your favorite Laura Mercier product? Why?
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer is my favorite product because it really allows the foundation to adhere on the skin, and it also gives longer wearing power which so many women are looking for. The texture of this product is fabulous! It's not sticky and it dries in seconds. We have a Primer for all types of skin whether it's dry, oily or combination. Most importantly, all women can benefit from this magnificent product; the foundation primer is truly one of the most important steps for a woman to achieve the flawless face.
