Shake well, then dispense a small amount onto the back of your hand and apply to face with Laura’s Egg-Shaped Sponge or fingertips. For best results, use after your preferred Laura Mercier Foundation Primer.
For the most flawless, natural look, Laura says it's key to avoid over-applying foundation to the middle of the face—where too much formula can accentuate lines and other imperfections. With liquid, crème, or powder, she recommends starting at the outer portion of the face and working inward towards the nose. Focus on one area at a time and be sure to blend well. Avoid excess application around eyes or the contours of the face. Repeat application until desired coverage is achieved.
Remember, use Foundation to even out your skin tone. Use Concealer to camouflage imperfections.

Yes, this is different from the Original, but I think it's a beautiful foundation, and I was a lover of the old silk creme. This one is more natural-looking. It can't really be compared to the old one, but it's just a nice and in fact, I find it more realistic looking. I understand why people loved the old one, however. The old one was very economical because you could hardly use any, get coverage, and a tube lasted a long, long time. This formula does not last as long because you do need to use more for full coverage. But I still love the new one and would buy it again. It was easy to find a color match, although it has a completely different name than the original silk creme I used (peach ivory) and I use a different color in the new oil free formula than in this formula! Don't know exactly why the colors can't be more consistent across the board. The same color in this formula was either lighter or darker than in the oil - free version. But, I was able to find my match, and again, I think this is a great new foundation too.

I have bought both of these formulas--the Photo Edition Regular and the Photo Edition Oil-Free-neither of these works and/or compares in the least to the old Silk Crème Formula. If all/most of your customers are telling you that this new "formulation" is a huge fail and you fail to acknowledge and bring back the old formula--I plan to not purchase ANY LM product again. Not trying to be threatening here--but the old formulation/foundation was an absolute JOY to use and the "FOUNDATION" of my entire make-up routine. This new formula is drying-not radiant, not luminous--just completely blahhhhh. Hope YOU LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS-if not-then that shows you don't care about them--and I will have to find another BRAND.

Comments about Silk Crème Moisturizing:
I used the old formula for 15 years. I was so shocked when I went to get more and it was replaced. I bought the new formula and it's not anything like the old. They ruined a good thing! I will no longer buy Laura Mercier. I will be going with Bobby Brown.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Need to bring old formula back
from Delray beach Florida
About Me Natural Style
I used the old silk foundation formula for 8 years and loved it. It had great coverage and my skin looked flawless. I hate the new formula. Little coverage and color not the same. Why would you change something so good. Won't be purchasing any Laura Mercier products again unless old formula is brought back.

Miss the Old Formula
from Boston, MA
About Me Brand Buyer
I used the old formula of this product for years. It was my holy grail foundation. When they switched the formula, I was extremely disappointed. It did not even compare to the old formula. The old formula was flawless. It gave me confidence, made my skin flawless, regardless of any breakout, and was my go-to product. I recommended this to everyone and they all fell in love with it as well. I hope one day they decide to bring back the old formula so that I can have the product back that made me feel the most beautiful!
Why would you change it !!!!!
Really hate they have change this foundation. I just don't understand why you would ruin a good thing. Estee Lauder did the same thing with the Double Wear Foundation. Sad day that this foundation has also been changed for the worse.

Loved the old formula; love the new one too!
I used and loved the old formula of this product for years, but I'm also happy with this new formula. It's not as highly pigmented as the old formula, but that's not a bad thing for my very well cared for but mature skin. This new formula in Rose Ivory is more luminous and imparts a smooth finish to my fair skin. I'm quite pleased and will continue to use this as one of the favored foundations in my rotation. To me, this is similar to the YSL Touche Eclat foundation, which I also love for mature skin. Not super high coverage, and definitely not super matte, but again, that's a good thing for me personally.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Silk Crème Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation:
I have been a faithful Laura Mercier customer for 15 years. I loved your old formula silk creme foundation and as a make up artist, used it on all my clients as well as myself. I am VERY disappointed in your new formula. There is too much slippage, the foundation settles into creases, the coverage is not as good as the old and it doesn't last very long. WHY did you choose to change something that was so amazing into a very run of the mill mediocre product? I will now have to switch brands. PLEASE listen to your customers and bring back the old foundation!
Bring back old formula pleasssssse!!!
I found the old silk cream foundation 10 years ago and love it!!! I bought 3 the old silk cream foundation when they were on sale and been using it till last month. It was so unhappy with the new formula!!!! The color is not the same, the coverage is not good and it doesn't stay long. The worst part is the smell. It smells horrible, like gasoline to me. Please bring back be old silk cream foundation!!! I feel so lost. I have been trying different other brands, still have not found the one...

BRING BACK THE "OLD" SILK CREME
By baker girl
from Rhode Island
Why or why did you change a perfect product? I loved the old Silk Creme Foundation and got many compliments on my skin ---- and I'm 72! The new Silk Creme Photo Edition provides little or no coverage and does not last. Now I am on the hunt for a new foundation and it certainly won't be from the LM collection. So disappointing!

Bring back the old Silk Creme formula...PLEASE!
from Norfolk, VA
In the past Silk Crème Foundation (Luminous Formula) WAS the BEST foundation I have ever used and I had so many compliments about my skin when I used it. I was so disappointed when I went to purchase a new supply because the formula had been changed and even my perfect color "Peach Ivory" was no longer available. I tried the new formula with an optimistic attitude, but found it to be the WORST foundation I have ever used. How very disappointing! Though I was a committed Laura Mercier customer, I am no longer and am now in search of a new foundation. Please bring back the old formula.......

So glad I didn't purchase!
Saw all the great reviews on YouTube and was eager to buy, then I came here and read all the negative reviews about the REFORMULATION. Forget it! I hate when a perfect product is discontinued and a shoddy substitute is put in place. Former fans, I feel your pain, Clinique did this with their original Repairwear foundation. I still refuse to shop with them. Devastating.
